The Cullman County Commission on Aging in conjunction with the City of Hanceville conducted the much anticipated annual Cullman Senior Fishing Day (aka Hanceville Senior Fish-0-Rama) on Friday, May 6th from 7:30 am until 11:00 am at Veterans Memorial Park in the City of Hanceville.

This free event was under the expert guidance of Director Dusty Baker with the Cullman County Commission of Aging. There were free doors prizing and equally free lunch for every participant as well as a morning of fishing.
Hanceville Mayor Kenneth Nail announced that the Veterans Memorial Park lake had been stocked with around 600 pounds of catfish less than two weeks ago, specifically for this and the recent children’s fishing event.

In addition, there were a large number of celebrity guests in attendance such as Alabama House Representative Randall Shedd, Cullman County Commissioner Kerry Watson, Police Chief Bob Long, Fire Chief Rodger Green and Hanceville City Council member Charles Wilson (who also took the role of fiduciary fish weigher and score keeping officiant).
