INTERVIEW Edwin Carter Long History Camp Meadowbrook

Edwin Carter is the de facto historian for Camp Meadowbrook as well as a long tenured Vice-Chairman of the Cullman County Soil & Water Conservation District (CCSWCD).

The CCSWCD owns and operates Camp Meadowbrook. Mr. Carter has been involved from BEFORE the beginning in the early 1970’s.

In this interview, Mr. Carter explains in detail the history of Camp Meadowbrook complete with fascinating tales of the original owners and how the Cullman County Board of Education was originally bequeathed the property.

Carter also recounts how the 40-acre facility was moved from the hands of the Board of Education to the Soil & Water District, how the property was decimated by the April 2011 tornado outbreak and how this amazing landmark and premium event center came into being since that time:
