On Monday evening, the Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehab Center recently held one of their most highly-anticipated events of the year. Friends, family and some of the contestants’ biggest supporters gathered to watch the eleven contestants vie for the title of Ms. Hanceville Nursing and Rehab Center (HNRC).

Judges Angie Carter, Sheriff Matt Gentry, and two out-of-county, experienced pageant judges had the toughest job. The Sheriff even joked, “I would rather walk into a room of armed men than having to make that decision again.”

The awards for the evening were:

Ms. HNEC – Margie Guthrie
Best Smile – Modene Priest
Best Dress – Doris Smothers
Prettiest Hair – Wanda Hefner (completely jealous of her locks)
Prettiest Eyes – Margaret Flowers
Best Personality – Jenny Robertson
Most Energetic – Edna Johnson
Ms. Spirit of the Facility – Virginia Fowler
Ms. Congeniality – Agnes Thompson
Third Alternate – Dorothy Bergner
Second Alternate – Dean Majors
