CHRIS CORNELL Dead at 52

Cornell performed Wednesday night at the famed Fox Theatre in Detroit.

Arguably the best rock singer of his generation – Chris Cornell – died overnight in Detroit, MI.

Cornell is well-known as the lead singer for Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and later Audioslave.

Cornell performed Wednesday night at the famed Fox Theatre in Detroit.

According to Detroit Local 4, he was staying at the MGM Grand in Detroit from where he passed on.

They report Cornell’s death initially appears to be a suicide. He was found dead in a bathroom of this hotel room by a friend early Thursday morning.

In a statement to The Associated Press, Brian Bumbery called the death “sudden and unexpected”. He said his wife and family were shocked by it.

The statement said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause of death. They have asked for privacy in the wake of Cornell’s death.
