Double Fatality In Bremen: Car Catches Fire After Colliding With Tree

This location of the mishap was approximately one-half mile off of Highway 69 almost equidistant between Bremen and Dodge City.

Emergency responders were dispatched to County Road 109 late this morning by Cullman e-911 in regards to a single car motor vehicle accident.

This location of the mishap was approximately one-half mile off of Highway 69 almost equidistant between Bremen and Dodge City along what is also known as Cold Springs Road.

Upon arrival, a deputy with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) discovered that the vehicle in question had left the roadway and impacted a tree. The force of the collision was severe enough to create an almost immediate fully involved car fire.

Firefighters and EMT’s from Bremen Volunteer Fire Department soon arrived at the location where they worked to extinguish the blaze successfully.

It is believed that the two occupants in the vehicle were entrapped.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. KilpatrickĀ pronounced the two occupants dead at the scene.

One witness to the accident believes the vehicle was a gold colored Pontiac.

A medical team from Cullman Emergency Medical Services were active on scene along with Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The circumstances surrounding the accident is under investigation.

CCSO closed County Road 109 to through traffic sometime after the crash. The roadway is now open for motorist use.
