New Starting Quarterback Dale Greer Goes Deep

Effective June 1, Cullman has a new starting quarterback, Dale Greer. He’s Money.

Effective June 1, Cullman has a new starting quarterback.

He will be calling signals for a nationally prominent, game-speed tested team of specialized players with a deep, experienced bench and plenty of top incoming draft talent.

Dale Greer is that new quarterback.

He won’t be playing football. Instead, he is taking the helm of a 40+ year economic powerhouse: the Cullman Economic Development Agency (CEDA).

With the announced retirement of CEDA Director (and undisputed, year-over-year MVP) Peggy Smith in February, the City of Cullman had a huge hole in the lineup to fill.

Fortunately, they had the perfect replacement already on the squad: Assistant Director Dale Greer.

Why hire an outsider or rookie, when you can pick the man who wrote the playbook?

He has been at the forefront of all things that have come through the CEDA office for the last 24 years.

Beginning Thursday, Dale Greer gets to call all the plays and build on the many hyper-positive community development initiatives he was instrumental in achieving over the last three decades.

In this exclusive, in-depth interview, Greer discusses what of a kind of club he plans to put on the field over the near and long-term.

He also discusses several sophisticated additions to the playbook while wisely tempering expectations as the league this team plays in gets increasingly competitive with lagging wannabes who want the title.

(Editors Note: This is the first time we’ve used sports analogies to tell an economic development story. But, Dale Greer loves football, has the skill set of a top quarterback + he is flat Money.)
