United Way Releases Emergency Assistance to Help Local Families

United Way of Cullman’s Board of Directors recently released additional funds to protect the daily operations and continue vital services for children and families who need access to food through Cullman Caring for Kids Food Bank.

Donations from the most recent food drive are down and the number of households requesting assistance is continuing to increase.

“The need in the community is very real, we know families are at risk,” Said Deborah Hoover, Chair of United Way of Cullman County’s Board of Directors. “Our board took quick action to make sure they have the resources they need to fight against hunger.”

United Way’s focus is in the areas of health, education and financial stability —the building blocks for a good life. We invest in quality programs, advocate for better policies, engage people in the community and generate resources. United Way improves lives in part through a rigorous process that invests the community’s generosity in effective programs run by 16 local nonprofit agencies. The process is transparent, volunteer-driven, and ensures that every dollar donated is spent wisely where it is needed most.

United Way of Cullman has a long history of commitment to our community. We couldn’t do our work without corporate partners, donors and volunteers. If you would like to donate contact United Way of Cullman, 256-739-2948.
