Cullman Brewers Guild Responds To Cullman Caring For Kids Food Shortage

Another Cullman organization steps forward to aid food and funding crisis at Cullman Caring For Kids.

In réponse to funding and food shortages at Cullman Caring For Kids food bank over the last week, Cullman Brewers Guild has responded to the crisis by donating $500 to this long-time Cullman charitable agency.

Yesterday, Jason Guidry and Jeff Taylor of the Guild presented Cullman Caring For Kids Director Javon Daniel a check for $500. Guidry is the vice-president of the organization; Taylor is the President.

Guidry had these thoughts after the presentation of funds:

““Cullman Caring For Kids has helped thousands of area residents over the decades. They serve an incredibly important need across the county ensuring people who are faced with malnutrition, if not starvation, have a resource to help them over short and long-term financial and life challenges.

Cullman Brewers Guild understands the need of the community, as well as the tough spot Javon and his staff, are in.

We proud to help out. We hope some other people and organizations will step forward this summer to get the food bank, and the struggling people it serves, over this short-term crisis.””

In related news, last week the United Way of Cullman Board of Directors released emergency funds to protect the daily operations and continue vital services for children and families who need access to food through Cullman Caring for Kids Food Bank.

Donations from the most recent food drive are down and the number of households requesting assistance is continuing to increase.

“The need in the community is very real, we know families are at risk,” Said Deborah Hoover, Chair of United Way of Cullman County’s Board of Directors. “Our board took quick action to make sure they have the resources they need to fight against hunger.”
