A manhunt involving multiple agencies is now underway in the Gardendale community just south of Cullman along Interstate 65.

This search for a lone gunman has ensued after three people were shot dead inside a Gardendale home around 8 am this morning. Two women and one man were left deceased in a mobile home park along the 4100 block of Willow Bend Drive. This is known by many as the Peachtree Crossing Community.

As noted above, the Gardendale Police have identified the man as Kenneth Dion Lever.

Investigators with GPD believe the shooting was part of a was domestic incident.

GPD had a sheltering order in place for nearby by residents. Around 10 am, that order was lifted with the law enforcement belief that Lever has left the general area.

GPD says Lever was armed with a handgun and fled into the woods after the incident.
