CULLMAN COUNTY WEATHER Sunday July 16 2017

by | Jul 16, 2017 | Weather

MORE OF THE SAME PATTERN – High 87°

TODAY: Areas of dense fog will linger until 9 am. There is a Dense Fog Alert in place this morning with visibility down to 2 to 4 miles with less than one-quarter of a mile in valleys and near large bodies of water.

Random pop-up thunderstorms are 50-50 this afternoon and early evening. It is impossible to predict when/where convection will emerge exactly, so keep aware of the possibility of brief, gusty winds up to 40 mph, ample amounts of lightning and thunder lightning and monsoon rains that can lead to localized flash flooding due to moisture saturated soil conditions.

Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny with a high near 87°. Humidity levels will be high with a calm wind.

TONIGHT: 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms until midnight; patchy fog afterward. Partly cloudy, low 70°, calm wind.

MONDAY: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 am. Patchy fog before 8 am. Mostly sunny with a high near 88. Wind from the southwest at 5 mph.

NEXT WEEK: Slight-to-moderate chances for afternoon/evening thunderstorms all week. Expect highs into the middle 90’s by week’s end with Heat Index values well over 100°. Nighttime lows will be sticky and only dropping into the middle 70’s. Unquestionably the hottest and most uncomfortable week of 2017 so far lies ahead.
