16 Year Old Drowns In Smith Lake

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) announced late Saturday night that a 16 year-old has drowned on Smith Lake.

A drowning of a 16 year-old victim occurred around 6:30 pm Saturday on Lewis Smith Lake.

The young man’s body was recovered directly from the water.

Marine Patrol Troopers were investigating circumstances surrounding the drowning Saturday evening.

As of 6:00 am Sunday, no further details are available from ALEA. Troopers have not released the identity of the victim.
