Multiple Cullman Car Break-Ins Overnight
The Cullman Police Department is busy this morning responding to citizen reports of multiple car break-ins in the southeastern portion of the City of Cullman.
Five motor vehicle break-ins have been reported so far from the overnight period.
All emanate from in and around the Churchhill Lane and 16th Street SE area of the city.
We spoke with Cullman Police Officer Cindy Rohrschieb earlier this morning. She had these thoughts on the incident:
“First off, citizens should NEVER leave personal valuables like purses, phones, electronics, etc. in their unattended car – anytime, anyplace.
Some of the reported break-ins are from cars left unlocked. An unlocked vehicle is an invitation to petty thieves to rob you.
In the rest of the cases, the suspects are making a forced entry into the vehicles.”
Using good judgment with your motor vehicle and its contents is always smart. If you live or visit the southeast part of Cullman, you should be extra vigilant in these matters.
If you are a victim of such a crime or have information leading to the identification of the parties involved in this automotive crime spree, please contact the Cullman Police Department: (256) 775-7145
