2nd Fridays Downtown Cullman August 2017
2nd Fridays sponsored by Cullman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dodged the threat of Flash Flooding Friday night.
Hundreds of residents from Cullman and beyond filled 1st Avenue NE from Highway 278 to Depot Park to partake in a diverse mix of family-friendly attractions and activities.
There were TWO musical stages. Attendees had multiple opportunities for eating local foods and shopping late in beautiful, historic downtown Cullman shopping district.
This event was the 3rd 2nd Fridays of the summer’s proudly presented by Cullman Chamber and Cullman Parks & Recreation.
There will be one more 2nd Fridays in 2017 slated for September.
Rob Ketcham of the Cullman Chamber does a great job explaining what happened at 2nd Friday’s in this interview:
As Rob points out, the 100+ vehicle vintage automobile lineup was the events biggest draw.
Also garnering notable interest from the many guests to 2nd Friday’s was:
ROUND 2: They played to large crowds on the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill Restaurant stage
SAM EDWARDS & MIKE SMITH on the Shirley Quattlebaum – State Farm Insurance stage – also attracted significant eyes and ears.
TriGreen Equipment’s FARM Y’ALL CULLMAN gear and apparatus was impressi9ve on the street in front of the Cullman Farmers Market – Festhalle.
The ARTIST ALLEY nestled between Clark Street and 1st Street NE was the secret, top attraction of the event. Much commerce was transacted in this area with the entire alley being a quiet, safe-haven for many event attendees.
The BOUNCE HOUSE / KID ACTIVITIES
in the Buffalo Wild Wings Kids Zone was a huge hit with the under 12 crowd.
The TOMATO FOOD DEMONSTRATIONS were fascinating, to say the least. They were sponsored by American Proteins, Inc.
The RECREATIONAL VEHICLES at the R.E. Garrison Trucking, Inc. Show Lot with Johnston RV Center and Millican RV America providing demos was like a trip to your local RV dealer. The micro campers drew the most attention.
We never did figure out if there was a competition with winners prizes at the HORSE SHOE TOSSIN’ sponsored by AK Rentals. In any case, it looked fun.
Finally, we ran across the Party Like A Princess troupe. They were wandering the streets of downtown Cullman tonight at 2nd Friday’s.
This group of young character actors is entertaining attendees of all ages. They are also seeking to be hired for birthday parties, school events, church gatherings, and any organization in need of unique, festive, positive family entertainment:
