United Way Launches Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund to help Houston-area residents

The United Way of Cullman County has established a relief fund to help with the recovery needs and to help address the problems of the devastating and widespread flooding in the area caused by Hurricane Harvey. All contributions donated to United Way’s Flood Relief Fund will be used to help with both immediate, basic needs and long-term recovery services.

Sammie Danford, Director of the United Way of Cullman County is fully engaged in the Harvey Relief fund effort:

“We are sending 100 % of the donations made to the Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund to help with recovery efforts. Cullman residents know firsthand the challenges that come from a disaster, their community will need incredible resources to recover.”

Year-round, United Way invests in first responders, so they can respond quickly in times of disaster, as they are doing now. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please call 2-1-1, the United Way funded community resource line for emergency assistance 24 hours a day.
