Tuesday afternoon at Smith Lake Park brought a flurry of FREE HOT DOGS 🌭 & PEPSI COLA.

The occasion was the Giant Pepsi Can Grand Opening Celebration and Presentation Day.

Between 12 noon & 6 pm, hundreds of Cullman County attendees got to view a ridiculously large can of Pepsi located next to the main office at Smith Lake Park.

They also received FREE hot dogs and chips along with plenty of ice cold Pepsi.

Pepsi Cola of Cullman painted the old, no longer functioning water tower at Smith Lake Park.

Accordingly to Doug Davenport, the Director of Cullman County Parks & Rec this has been an eyesore to everyone that visited Smith Lake Park and the park’s boat launch.

In this interview, we speak with Davenport, Roger Shabel of Pepsi Cola of Cullman and Decatur and Cullman county commission Chairman Kenneth Walker:

Over the last 4 years, the Parks department has been trying to have it removed or utilize it in some other way.

Instead of being an eyesore, Davenport says they are trying to get approval for the World Guinness Book of Records as the world’s largest Pepsi Can.

The Giant Pepsi Can is 32 feet in height and 38 feet in circumference. It could hold 8,687,104 FL OZ and could also fill 723,925 individual cans.

After completing research this can is the largest known Pepsi Can. Cullman County Parks and Recreation is in the process of submitting the Giant Pepsi Can to be in the Guinness Book Of World Records.

The public is invited to stop by and take photos with the Giant Pepsi Can. The address to Smith Lake Park is 403 County Road 386, Cullman, Alabama 35057.
