At their regular Hanceville City Council meeting Thursday night, Councilors approved their annual City budget plan.

One of the highlights of this budget includes a donation to Cullman County Mental Health.

Councilman Justin Pruett was strongly in favor of the gift:

“I am proud that we passed a budget in Hanceville tonight that includes a donation to Cullman County Mental Health. As the Sheriff has said many times, this is something we have to address as a community in whole.

This is a good budget we passed!”

In addition to the funding for mental health care, the City Council found a way to:

★ Increase the City’s street paving budget from 100,000 to 150,000 for 2018

★ Give a 5% raise to all city employees
