Fishing 4 a Cure 4 ALS Bass Tournament 2017
Danny Harris was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) back on April 28, 2011.
This condition is commonly called Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Danny and his family members are courageous fighters and proactive optimists.
For the last 6 1/2 years, the Harris family and their ever-widening circle of supporters have worked tirelessly to bring awareness about ALS to Cullman County.
Fishing 4 a Cure 4 ALS is the name of their group. It was founded in honor of Danny. They host an annual bass fishing fundraiser as well as an annual vendor and crafts fair in the Spring.
This year marked the fourth iteration of the Fishing 4 a Cure 4 ALS Bass Tournament.
The goal of the fishing tournament was to create awareness and raise money for finding a cure for ALS and minimizing day-to-day care issues involved with the condition.
The following video featuring Mark and Diane Harris explains all things in great detail:
Big money was also involved.
The first place winners received a cash payout of $5,000.
