Students from Hanceville High School are getting a rare treat this morning.

Sean Fuller of the Rock The South headlining band – Florida Georgia Line – dropped by Lane Horton Gymnasium on the campus of the school at 11 am.

Fuller is the band’s longtime drummer.

In addition to playing drums for the students, he is talking a lot about being positive and kind. Fuller’s “Faith, Goals & Life” message is covering topics such as bullying, smart social media habits, and of course music. He also delved into his journey from the humble roots of Evansville, IN, to stardom in Nashville while providing perspectives on the many famous musicians he has played with.

Before joining Florida Georgia Line, Fuller performed with ZZ Top, Backstreet Boys, Jason Derulo, and the Chainsmokers.

Hanceville High School Principal Jimmy Collins discussed the magnitude of the country rockstar’s visit:

“This is the most famous, universally popular figure we’ve had in my time at Hanceville High School, and maybe ever at the school. Sean did not have to take time out of his grueling tour schedule to come all the way to Hanceville. His effort today exemplifies they kind of individual truly he is. Our student are besides themselves with excitement over this appearance!”

The band shot to fame with the hit 2012 mega smash hit “Cruise”.

They’ve sold almost 26 million tracks and over 3.5 million albums worldwide, claiming the first Diamond-certified single in country history for sales of over 10 million copies along the way (“Cruise”).

Each of their 11 singles has reached platinum or gold status (with an astonishing 11 No. 1s), both of their previous albums (Here’s to the Good Times and Anything Goes) have earned platinum or double platinum standing and the duo sold over 1.5 million concert tickets in 2015 alone.

The band will play at the Oak Mountain Amphitheater in Pelham tonight at 7 pm.
