With air temperatures just under 40 degrees and a wind chill near freezing, several dozen intrepid participants took part in the 9th annual Parkside Great Pumpkin Run this morning at 9 am.

The race was a rain or shine event. It got plenty of rain before the start time and light drizzle throughout the race.

Here is a video of the start of the event:

This very fun 5K run wandered through the streets of the Town of Baileyton. It began at the Parkside School and finished up at the Baileyton Town Park.

All ages and levels of athletic experience gravitated to this event despite the inclement conditions. Not everyone ran, a handful of the participants walked the course.

28 runner registered online, but the field appeared to swell to nearly 50 at the starting line.

The top three runners in each age group (under 10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+) will received medals. Both male and female winners received medals and prizes.

As a bonus, EVERY contestant took home a goody bag!

The final, timed results are expected to be posted online sometime late Saturday.
