A multiple vehicle collision has occurred has occurred along US Highway 31 North in the Town of Vinemont. This location is near Earl’s Body Shop.

Traffic along Highway 31 is snarled as emergency responders work to sort out the details of the wreck, care for the injured, and attempt to clean-up the substantial debris fields.

Personnel from Vinemont-Providence Fire Department, a medical team from Cullman Ems and deputies from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office are active at the location.

An Air Evac Lifeteam medical helicopter has landed near the wreck scene. At least one injured participant in the collision has just been airlifted to a Level 1 Trauma Center. We are uncertain if this will be in Birmingham or Huntsville.

Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are now on scene. A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.

Traffic flow is negatively affected in both the northbound and southbound lanes of 31 with detours around the wreck in operation. If you are traveling in the area, avoidance of the location of the location is the best strategy.

We have no ETA on when this incident will clear up and normal traffic flow will be restored.
