INTERVIEW Garlan Gudger Special Called City Council Meeting
SPECIAL CALLED CULLMAN CITY COUNCIL MEETING
The Cullman City Council convened a Special Called Meeting today at 12 noon.
Only two items were on the agenda; both important:
1. City Attorney Roy Williams retaining additional outside legal council to pursue litigation (and prosecute claims) against manufacturers and wholesale distributors of opioids. The war on opioids in the City of Cullman – from a legal perspective – begins now.
2. Approving matching grant funds for an additional TAP Transportation Grant in conjunction with the Cullman County Commission. This is improvements to four linear blocks along 1st Avenue NE parallel to the CSX railroad line.
$200,000 in matching funds opens the door to $1.2 million in grant money.
Council President Garlan Gudger explains the details of each Resolution in this interview. We also do a short recap on Friday’s Super successful Christmas In Cullman Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony.
