Cullman e911 dispatched emergency responders to the Town of Fairview this morning.

The call went out based upon reports of an ’18-wheeler on its side’ along the 7900 block of Alabama Highway 69 not far from the Wolf Creek Bridge.

Personnel from Fairview Fire & Rescue arrived first on the scene to discover an 18-wheeler operated by R. Dale Waldrep Trucking Company. The fully loaded chicken feed truck was overturned in a highway-side drainage ditch partially on its side.

In addition to Fairview rapid responders, deputies from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, a medical team from Cullman EMS, and a Trooper with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency participated in the incident aftermath.

According to Shane Anderson of Fairview Fire & Rescue, there were no injuries to the driver of the 18-wheeler:

“Once we determined the driver was uninjured, we canceled EMS from the scene.

The wreck certainly slowed traffic for a bit. However, we were lucky that road blockage caused was minimal. We got traffic moving around the accident site smoothly and safely.”

Portions of Highway 69 was closed briefly to allow safe space for the emergency responders to get this big rig upright and the wreck scene cleaned up.
