Dollar General Gives Hanceville Schools 15 Thousand Dollars

Last week, a corporate representative with Dollar General Stores contacted the principals of the three Hanceville Schools: Elementary, Middle and High.

The representative said the company would visit the schools Thursday of this week. The Dollar General representative provided no further, tangible details. This communication left the principals curiously in the dark as to the nature or purpose of the visit.

 

Around noon Thursday, the principals found out the visitation by Dollar General officials was far more than a courtesy call.

A regional leader from Dollar General the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and the Hanceville Dollar General Market store manager arrived on campus bearing boxes of information, discount coupons and $15,000.

As you can see in this video, the three Hanceville Schools were given $5,000 each by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. Principals Jimmy Collins, Cyndi Roden and Dollar General Manager Daniel explain the details:
