Makers Market is a curated craft fair for local makers, artists, and vendors who create unique handmade items. This Holiday themed event took place today at the Festhalle Marketplatz in downtown Cullman from 9 am to 5 pm.

Makers Market is idea and creation of longtime Cullman personal care artisan, Elizabeth McDowell.

In this walking tour interview with McDowell, you will meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, view the offerings of the vendors in attendance:

As you can see, Makers Market was unlike any other art fair, filled unique shopping opportunities!

Jennifer Myers Photography was on-site taking photos with children in conjunction with Santa and Mrs.Claus. A clay artist did ceramic handprints.

Mark your calendars for 2018 around this time. This one-of-a-kind holiday craft fair plans to return next year according to McDowell:

“What a fantastic turnout of both high quality vendors and customers ready to support local artists, craftspeople and artisans!

The early morning cold made the first hour a little slow, but as the mercury went up, we had a steady stream of patrons throughout the day. This went as imagined it would. I am very grateful to all the vendors who made the choice to brave the cold; most were rewarded by the equally hardy residents of Cullman who supported their work.

Yes … at this moment, I have every intention of doing a Makers Market 2018. We learned a couple of important nuances today, plus I have several ideas that will make next year’s event even bigger, and more importantly better.”
