Anyone Remember The Cullman F3 Tornado On January 19 1988

Around 5:25 pm on this day (January 19th) in 1988, Cullman County sustained an F3 tornado.

Its path length was right at 10 miles with a width of up to 1/4 of a mile.

Damage in the Loretto community was extensive with multiple structures damaged.

A distribution center had 75 trailer rigs lost in the storm.

Extensive damage also occurred at a shopping center in Cullman.

In total, 13 homes, 15 mobile homes, and six businesses were destroyed. Hundreds of structures were damaged.

The starting coordinates of the tornado were 34.1200/-86.9000 and ended at 34.2500/-86.7700.
