Cullman City Parks and Recreation (CP&R) in partnership with the internationally acclaimed Missoula Children’s Theatre brought the stage production of “Jack & The Beanstalk” to the Cullman Civic Center on Saturday night.

Due to severe challenges with winter weather interfering with practices for this show, there was a single 6:00 pm performance rather than the original scheduled 2 and 6 pm times.

Over 50 aspiring young Cullman area actors, and actresses, from Kindergarten-level to 12th grade performed brilliantly nonetheless after completing an audition on Monday followed up with a hectic week of after-school rehearsals.

In this video, you will see some of the live on-stage action as well as hear from the major sponsor of JACK & THE BEANSTALK (and huge patron of the arts in Cullman) – Shirley Quattlebaum – as well as Cullman City Parks & Recreation Marketing Wonder Woman – Maneka Rocca – who discusses the behind-the-scenes action with Missoula this week:

Since throwing open the doors to the MCT Center for the Performing Arts in 1988, the Missoula Children’s Theater has hosted more than 1.3 million guests. MCT has a significant economic footprint, averaging 120 full-time staff members.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) is based out of Missoula, Montana. They send full stage production staffs across the country to put on touring shows for children from ages five to eighteen. It has been a long-running staple in Cullman for over two decades.

According to the MCT’s website, their mission is “the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts.”
