Flat Bed 18-Wheeler Impact Generates Passenger Car Rollover On I-65
FLATBED 18-WHEELER IMPACT Generates Passenger Car Rollover On Interstate 65
The Cullman e911 system has dispatched multiple emergency response agencies to a motor vehicle mishap on Interstate 65.
The location of this accident is near the 309 Mile Marker in the southbound lanes of the roadway.
The incident involves a flat-bed 18-wheeler and a passenger car. The car has rolled over during the encounter.
The flat-bed has dumped its load onto I-65 in the southbound lanes. The cargo of the flat-bed looks a lot like military containers. What may be inside those containers is currently unknown.
The occupant of the big truck appears to be uninjured.
Medical personnel from Cullman EMS have just arrived at the location of the passenger car.
Deputies from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office are active at the scene as well.
Members of Bethsadia and Vinemont Fire Departments are en route to the location along with a Trooper from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
As you might expect, a significant traffic jam is in progress.
The southbound lanes of Interstate 65 are backing up rapidly. We expect the vehicular back-up to soon reach the 310 Exit with travelers likely exiting making detours around the accident. This should fill up Highway 278 West and Main Avenue along with Cherokee Avenue SW out to the Good Hope 304 exit with heavy traffic.
Northbound I-65 is slowed yet passable around the wreck area.
