Daniel Cummings – Defends 911 Chili Cook-Off Title – AGAIN

Sergeant Daniel Cummings, representing the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, is the two-time defending ‘People’s Choice’ 911 Chili Cook-Off champion. He defends his titles on Saturday.

Cummings swept top honors in the 2016 inaugural event winning both the People’s Choice AND the Director’s Choice Awards. He utilized a secret recipe to concoct his winning Pork Chipotle chili.

Perhaps taken somewhat lightly, Cummings and Team CCSO returned in 2017 to once again win the ‘People’s Choice’ 911 Chili Cook-Off first place trophy.

Sgt. Cummings is back again in 2018. He is poised to defend his titles in this year’s 911 Chili Cook-Off. The field will not under-estimate his culinary skills this time.

Cummings will face a strong field of top chili chefs representing law enforcement, fire department, and emergency response agencies from across Cullman County. Each organization has been offered the chance to prepare and serve their most tasty and coveted chili recipes to the general public.

Over 20 different departments are expected to compete. Each bowl will be served for the incredibly low price of $1.00.

In this pre-911 Cook-Off cooking demonstration from an undisclosed location in western Cullman County, Sergeant Cummings provides the secret details of his winning chili recipe from 2017, AND walks you through exactly how you too can make your own version of his award-winning chili.

He also plugs the 2018 event like a top game show host:

Proceeds from the 2018 911 Chili Cook-Off will go to assist the charitable efforts of Saving Forgotten Warriors.

Cullman Emergency Medical Services – host of the 911 Chili Cook-Off – and their Director James Curtis is ready to go on Saturday as well:

“We have invited every public safety agency to bring a team with their best chili. We hope to have a good crowd come out and show their support for our local first responders and Saving Forgotten Warriors.”

Awards to the chili cooking agencies will be given for first, second and third place in the ‘People’s Choice’ category.

Cullman EMS Director James Curtis will select the ‘Director’s Choice‘ winner. Tim Collins from Cullman Today is the victim selected to choose the ‘Hottest Chili Award‘.

Anyone who makes a $1 chili bowl donation will be entered into drawings to win door prizes. Anyone who makes a $1 chili bowl donation will be entered into drawings to win door prizes.

Two (2) platinum ROCK THE SOUTH tickets will also be raffled off as door prizes. Raffle tickets are $1, or $5 for six.
