Big Spoon Creamery will open inside Mae’s Food Hall this spring.

This Birmingham-based artisan ice cream company began in the driveway of Ryan and Geri-Martha O’Hara in 2014.

This husband-and-wife team opened their first bricks-and-mortars ice cream store last year in Avondale. The Cullman location will their 2nd store.

Big Spoon Creamery occupy the space vacated recently by Lichita’s Mexican ice cream and frozen popsicle shop.

Big Spoon Creamery should be open inside of Mae’s by late March.

Mae’s Food Hall is occupied other top-tier establishments:

★ Cantina Taqueria
★ I Love Bacon
★ Link’s Hot Dogs and Hamburgers
★ Rukus Bar
★ Strada Di Napoli

The proprietor of Mae’s Food Hall, Shane Quick, is pumped about this new arrival, just in time for warm weather:

“I am a bit of an ice cream connoisseur. It is one of my admitted guilty pleasures. I’ve never had ice cream better than Big Spoon Creamery.”

The Big Spoon Creamery menu highlights small-batch ice cream with varying flavors depending upon the season of the year.

You will also find sundaes, floats, malts and shakes, ice cream sandwiches, and even vegan-friendly items.
