New Plush Outdoor Basketball Court Opens In Good Hope

The City of Good Hope held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday afternoon to dedicate their plush, extremely premium outdoor basketball court.

The new court is virtually indestructible built on an 8 inch thick poured concrete base with a 10′ surrounding chain length fence and double thick rims.

The court is fully lit for nighttime play. It is VERY nice and a dream court for both serious and casual hoopsters.

The first official basketball game played on the new court featured distance sharpshooter Mayor Jerry Bartlett and low-post brute Corey Harbison along with this reporter and three members of the Good Hope Parks and Recreation Department.

For what it is worth: Harbison can still grab the rim.

This new facility is located in the far southwest corner of the Good Hope Municipal Park.
