Frequently played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach, formal badminton games take place on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side’s half of the court.

Physically, badminton strengthens core muscles. Arm and back muscles get a workout as well.

The psychological benefits are many. Badminton promotes physical fitness, helps to reduce stress and anxiety. This form of exercise increases endorphins, which are the brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, and has also been found to improve mood and sleep.
