The Patriots Ball of Alabama Comes To Cullman

The Patriots Ball of Alabama came to Stone Bridge Farms last Saturday night.

The event was a traditional military ball with a twist: non-military attendees were invited to witness (and educate) themselves on many military traditions, customs, and courtesies including the revered Grogg Ceremony.

The goal was to foster an understanding of Service, Sacrifice, and Pride in America and for being an American.

The theme for this year Patriot Ball was the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This included a faithful replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and an incredibly touching and deeply emotion engendering Wall of the Fallen.

You can watch the entirety of the Ball here courtesy of The Patriot’s Ball of Alabama:

Sergeant Noah Galloway was the Keynote speaker of The Patriots Ball of Alabama.

Noah Galloway – born in 1981 – is a US Army veteran, motivational speaker, and extreme sports enthusiast.

He was injured during the Iraq War, losing his left arm above the elbow and left leg above the knee.

Galloway was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars season 20 paired with Sharna Burgess. The pair finished in third place. He led his team to victory in the first season of the American Grit TV show on FOX.

His book Living with No Excuses: The Remarkable Rebirth of an American Soldier was released in August 2016.

Galloway covers the gamut of his experience – good and bad – in a heartfelt and fascinating keynote speech before dozens of Alabama military veterans:

The Alabama Military Cemetery sponsored this gathering.

Impressively, a Sentinel from the actual Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was on hand to demonstrate and explain their movements and procedures at the tomb as well as what it takes to have this honor offered to them. It was – as expected – a moving and memorable moment for everyone in attendance.

Hosts for the 2nd annual Patriot’s Ball of Alabama were:

★ Lieutenant Colonel Ross Cline
★ First Sergeant Chuck Perkins
★ Master Sergeant Dennis Nasser
★ Mr. Rob Thomas

Proceeds of this year’s ball benefited the Support Committee for the Alabama National Cemetery Overlook Project, visit for more information.
