412 Public House Opens Thursday 11 am

The year-long process of bringing 412 Public House – Cullman’s newest restaurant – to epigastric reality culminates at 11 am on Thursday, April 12, 2018.

412 Public House will be northern Alabama’s first and only GastroPub located in the heart of downtown Cullman (412 2nd Avenue SE).

412 Public House was dreamed up out of thin air from a conversation that occurred between two of the four co-owners Stephen Gannon and Trey Jordan.

After much discussion and planning, the pair persuaded top local Master Chef Rico Nishimura and mixologist deluxe, Christine Nishimura, to join the project as co-owners as well.

Gannon and Jordan explain all the inner details and long-term vision for 412 Public House in this interview including hours and days of operation:

The physical structure of 412 Public House emerged as new construction from a vacant lot located on 2nd Avenue SE.

Frank Fagg of F & O Architects found some way to position this magnificent structure on a tiny city lot.

The building itself and interior ambiance are simultaneously wide open, yet private. The colors, decor, and interior styling is rich, modern and upscale yet containing not a speck of pretention or snooty snobbery. Most patrons will find their surroundings extraordinarily comfortable.

I don’t drink, so I cannot comment intelligently on the spirits portion of 412 except to say the alcoholic beverage selection looks VERY extensive, the serving area is VERY cool looking, and sitting at the bar was WAY more comfortable than I imagined it to be. And the bar keeps were professional, happy, and seem to love their job.

The food coming out of Master Chef Rico’s kitchen is extraordinary.

We selected the Wonton Nachos as an appetizer. We could have had chosen from fried crab claws, seared ahi tuna, crab dip, or cheese sticks as well.

The entrees included melt-in-your-mouth filet mignon, pork chop ribeye, a massive beef ribeye, crab cakes, linguini alfredo and the catch of the day.

I skipped over the entrees to try almost every side dish offered. You can always tell the quality of an eatery by its side dishes. Mine were ALL excellent.

412 Public House also features a variety of exotic salads and yummy, uptempo sandwiches.

They also have a Kid’s Menu highlighted by Mac and Cheese Balls.

We never made it to the deserts! However, they have those as well … they looked great.

Finally, the table service staff was super-friendly, sharp, fast, and attentive. I did not expect that on the first night.

412 Public House officially opens to the public at 11 am Thursday morning (4/12).

MY OFFICIAL REVIEW

412 PUBLIC HOUSE is an outstanding concept perfectly executed by:

• Stephen Gannon
• Trey Jordan
• Rico Nishimura
• Christine Nishimura

The front door must be an interdimensional portal. Once inside, you’ll swear you are no longer in Cullman.

Tiffany and I couldn’t have been more taken and impressed with our experience. 412 Public House redefines the high-end of the 5-star (★★★★★+) restaurant range in Cullman.

We will definitely be back!
