Cullman First Grader ANNA KATE ALLCORN Wins PBS Young Writers Contest

Anna Kate Allcorn of Cullman recently submitted a story to the APT Young Writers Contest. The contest is part of Alabama Public Television’s (PBS) annual kids writing contests.

Anna won First Place in the First-grade division on Saturday in Montgomery.

She took home the win with her original story: ‘The Golden Goat’.

Her parents – Jason and Tanya Allcorn – are beside themselves with excitement about the victory. Anna has a younger brother named John Luke Allcorn.

Alabama Public Television’s kids writing contests have inspired thousands of young authors in Alabama during the last twenty years and several have become national contest winners.

Perhaps Anna will be another in that esteemed lineage?!
