Cullman e911 has dispatched firefighters from Hanceville Fire & Rescue, Johnsons Crossing Volunteer Fire Department, and Good Hope Fire & Rescue to a fully involved residential structure fire.

The location of this fire is at the intersection of County Road 599 and County Road 616. This is just down the road from Hopewell Cemetery and Church.

Both County Roads are currently closed to through traffic; please avoid the area.

Firefighters have just made entry into the rear of the home via doors and windows. The firefight is in full motion at the time of this report.

Personnel from Hanceville Police Department and Cullman EMS are also currently active at the scene.

No official word on the status of the residence’s occupant(s) – yet. It is believed by neighbors that no one was home at the time of the blaze’s onset.

Linemen from Cullman Electric Cooperative have just arrived to disconnect electric power. Lines and meter serving the house are already down and burned to the ground.

This is a metal roof home. The fire has spread to the attic, making putting out the core fire extremely challenging for firefighters. Sadly, it appears this dwelling will be ultimately be deemed a total loss.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

The Cullman chapter of the American Red Cross has been called in to provide initial bridge support for the residence’s occupants displaced by the blaze.
