Famed Holly Pond political activist Ron Stone took advantage of the public speaking portion of the Commission Meeting.
Stone is spearheading an initiative to facilitate the repair/replacement of Cullman County’s rapidly deteriorating farm-to-market county roads.
He asked the Cullman County Commission for a resolution to place a question on the November general election ballot. The ballot question would allow voters to approve/disapprove a .02 cents per gasoline tax on the fuel buying populace. The funds would earmarked solely for county road repairs/replacements.
Stone breaks down the details of his tax/road repair proposal in this video:
POSTPONED a Public Hearing concerning vacating a portion of County Road 1614.
PASSED a resolution filing the Transportation Alternative Program Grant Application by the City of Cullman. The City will provide the funds for a local matching amount plus engineering, design and administrative service costs.
