The 19th annual City of Hanceville sponsored Senior FISH-O-RAMA has just wrapped up at Veteran’s Park Lake.

The Senior division dropped bait at 7 am this morning and fished until 11 am.

The awards ceremony is complete and HOT DOGS are now being consumed by the hungry 60+ participants:

1st place – George Gurganus (48 lbs. 5 oz.)
2nd place – Bill Pitts (32 lbs. 9 oz.)
3rd place – Ray Lollar (13 lbs. 8 oz.)

Biggest Fish – George Gurganus (2 lbs. 15 oz.)

Director Dusty Baker of Cullman County Commission on Aging provided the trophies for these top anglers.

Most of the surviving fish were placed back into the lake after the competition ahead of tomorrow’s Children’s Fish-O-Rama. The Children’s division will see youngsters with fishing poles arrive at 7 am Saturday. They fish until 11 am as well.

Multiple door prizes will be given out as well.

Hanceville Mayor Kenneth came up with the original idea for the Fish-O-Rama almost 20 years ago when he had a seat on the Hanceville City Council.
