Fire Consumes Trailer – 3 Year Old Pulled From Structure – Coroner Called In

A fire has consumed a trailer in the Simcoe community this morning.

A three-year-old child has been removed from the burning structure.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick has been called to the location.

Firefighters from Berlin, Fairview, and Gold Ridge are currently attempting to extinguish the blaze along County Road 1670.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office has already been summoned; a full investigation will commence upon that agency’s arrival. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown.

Medical teams from Cullman EMS and deputies with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office are also participating in the response to this incident.

The Cullman chapter of the American Red Cross is en route. They will be providing short-term financial support for the family as well water and food for firefighters.

This is a tragic, somber scene; strong prayers go out to everyone involved.

At 2:15 pm this afternoon, Coroner Kilpatrick confirmed the death of the child in this incident; he indicates the youngster’s age was actually 3-years-old, not 4. We have corrected the age reported accordingly.
