SIMCOE HEAD-ON COLLISION LEAVES TWO DEAD

8:00 am Monday Update: Coroner Kilpatrick has identified the deceased in this incident:

Micah Spencer (19) of Holly Pond
Rachel Martin (48) of Fairview

Multiple public safety agencies are working a head-on collision along Highway 69 in the Simcoe community.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick is on-scene and has confirmed two fatalities in the mishap.

The location is just south of the Simcoe Worship Center on Highway 69.

It appears one vehicle may have crossed the center line of the roadway.

Highway 69 is shut down in both directions and will remain blocked for some time.

Personnel from Gold Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and Fairview Fire and Rescue have created a detour around the wreck utilizing country roads.

Deputies with Cullman County Sheriff’s Office advise motorists to avoid the area.

Also working the accident scene are members of Cullman EMS and Baileyton VFD.

Multiple Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are at the location. A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is now underway.
