Sunflour Bakery: Delectable Dining

Highlighting The Best Food In Cullman

This quaint shop resides in front of Mustard Seed Nursery conveniently located off Interstate 65 exit 305 along County Road 222 in Good Hope. The Sunflour Bakery is on the way to Smith Lake. The establishment is well known for their lunch options especially their Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches and their assortment of baked treats such as chocolate cakes, pies, cookies and more.

However, today I decided to load up on all the carbs possible and try virtually all their breakfast items.

It’s Sunday, and before a day on the lake, we wanted a breakfast grandma would be proud to have.

The pancakes are awesome and at $4 for two it’s extremely affordable for families. Fluffy and light with a crisp ring around the edges these didn’t disappoint. If you are truly feeling fancy take these to go and plate them up with some real maple syrup and some fresh fruit and no one would be the wiser. Or you can order them with fruit or pecans already cooked in.

We then proceeded to try their various breakfast sandwiches which you can get on a biscuit or fresh sourdough they included bacon or sausage + egg and cheese. The biscuits weren’t overworked and had a tender crumb. I’m definitely going for the biscuit and gravy at a steal of $2.50 for my next trip as they are large biscuits for the price.

The sourdough was toasted perfectly for their breakfast sandwich which was around $5 and I preferred this to the biscuits as a sandwich just because I like my biscuits to be dressed down with just some jelly or gravy.

I also had the omelet with all the veggies (spinach, tomato, onion, pepper) and sausage. This would have been plenty of breakfast on its own. It filled the entire to go container and for $5.99 was a steal truly two people could have breakfast off it.

But I didn’t stop there I added a batch of hash browns to top off my carb-o-loading adventure. They are shredded similar to Waffle House hash browns. I barely got a bite of these before my children all piled in line to grab a spoonful. I love the crunchy caramelized edges but my kids love the soft middle sections.

Top picks from my visit would be the breakfast sandwich on sourdough and bacon with a side of hash browns made crispy. And maybe if super hungry grab an order of pancakes just cause you’re already there and you need that in your life.

Definitely stop by Sunflour Bakery the next time you head out to the lake or heading out to church for a good homemade breakfast that won’t break the bank:
