Collision In Fairview Sends Patient To Huntsville Hospital

A two-car collision occurred Thursday evening around 7:00 pm in the heart of Fairview.

Cullman e911 dispatched personnel from Fairview Fire & Rescue as well as Baileyton Fire Department to the intersection of Highway 69 North and Wesley Avenue.

This is the Hutch Resturant and Fairview Quik Stop intersection.

Upon arrival at the wreck scene, medical technicians from the above agencies and Cullman EMS evaluated patients. One individual was severely injured requiring a medical team from Air Evac Lifeteam to be called in.

After being stabilized, the patient was transported by medical helicopter to Huntsville Hospital.

We spoke with Bradley Chambers of Baileyton Fire, immediately following the helicopter lift-off:

“We were fortunate to be able to get a helicopter in here. There was bad weather to the south that if it was any closer air transport would not have been possible for this patient.

This was a case where fast response time mattered very much. All responders did a great job out here.”

Other occupants of the vehicles involved sustained only minor injuries.

The intersection was significantly blocked for a period of time Thursday night.

Also, responding to this accident were deputies from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office and a Trooper from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
