A United States Mail carrier Jeep appears to have hydroplaned on wet asphalt, leaving the roadway.

The Jeep has traveled approximately 150 feet off-road before coming to rest. Witnesses indicate the vehicle flipped multiple times before coming to a stop near a grassy ravine along Cherokee Avenue SW in the far southeastern portion of the City of Cullman.

This incident has occurred in the proximity of the intersection of County Road 222 and Cherokee Avenue SW (County Road 437).

Cullman e911 has dispatched personnel from Cullman EMS, Cullman Fire Rescue, Cullman Police Department, and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office to work the accident.

The female driver has been injured; she is being evaluated by medical personnel at this time.

Cullman Police Officer Cindy Rohrscheib has confirmed that wet roads played a role in this incident:

“A full investigation needs to be completed here, but it certainly looks like wet roads and hydroplaning of the vehicle are in play as a cause.”
