Cullman County Schools Solidify Principal Teacher Rosters For 2018-2019

The Cullman County Board of Education worked through a lengthy agenda during their final regular monthly board meeting before the beginning of the new 2018-2019 school year.

The agenda was dominated by many school personnel changes, including resignations, leave of absences, voluntary transfers, and appointments recommended by Superintendent Shane Barnette to the Board.

These changes include a 2.5% raise recently passed by the Alabama State Legislature.

The spotlight transfer involved longtime Cullman County Schools employee Cyndi Roden. Board members approved Barnette’s recommendation and transfered Cyndi Roden from her role as Principal at Hanceville Middle School to a similar position as Principal at Holly Pond Middle School, effective July 10, 2018 (replaces: Chuck Gambrill at Holly Pond)

In addition, Daniel Wakefield moves from Assistant Principal at Hanceville Middle School to Principal at Hanceville Middle School, effective July 25, 2018 (replaces: Cyndi Roden)

Roden was simultaneously sad and enthusuastic about the transfer:

“It is official tonight – Board Approved. I am transferring to the Holly Pond Middle School Principal position. I have loved being at HMS and I love the students, faculty and staff! I will miss my HV family. I have made friendships that will last a lifetime! I am so thankful for the opportunity to be at Hanceville. I am excited to begin the next chapter in my career!”
