TONIGHT Cullman Author Johnny Kampis “Vegas or Bust”

Cullman author Johnny Kampis will be signing copies of his book “Vegas or Bust: A Family Man Takes on the Pros” at Books a Million from 5 from 7 pmThursday, August 9, 2018 (that’s tonight).

His book is an examination of how the poker landscape changed between 2006 and 2016. This was after Congress passed a law that cut off funding for online poker and snuffed out poker’s boom.

In addition, th book reveals a first-person account of what it’s like to take a family to Las Vegas for six weeks during the World Series of Poker in a quest to play the ESPN televised main event. Johnny also points out the ridiculousness of Las Vegas, a city where you can sleep in a pyramid, or ride a gondola inside a mall.

Aa a former newspaper reporter, Johnny now works in the same capacity for the Washington, DC-based Taxpayers Protection Alliance. He has been published in such outlets as The New York Times,, Huffington Post and Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
