Jones Chapel Wreck Shuts Down 940; Air Evac Required

Cullman e911 has dispatched numerous emergency response agencies to a motor vehicle accident in Jones Chapel.

The wreck site is along the 1000 block of County Road 940.

The incident has resulted in injuries with one occupant requiring transport to a Trauma Center outside of Cullman County. A medical helicopter is currently inbound to the location.

County Road 940 is closed north and sound around the wreck scene. You can expect travel delays. Making alternate travel plans is a wise idea for the next hour or so.

Working the accident are personnel from Jones Chapel and Sardis Volunteer Fire Departments, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, and Cullman EMS.

EMS technicians are treating a female patient in an ambulance while awaiting air transport. The landing zone appears to be the Jones Chapel helipad.

Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are en route. Upon arrival, they will begin an investigation of the circumstances that led to this mishap.

1:35 pm: A RAMS (Regional Air Medical Services) helicopter has just departed the scene. By direction of travel, it appears bound for Huntsville Hospital.

1:20 pm Update: One lane now re-opened on County Road 940.
