MEET THE PRESS

Good Hope High School: MEDIA DAY 2018 – Football, Band, and Cheer

Cullman County Schools Superintendent Shane Barnette held the first ever MEDIA DAY in county high school football today.

This lengthy media event allowed head coaches, band directors, cheer coaches, players, band members and cheerleaders a chance to pitch their school’s focus and readiness for the upcoming 2018 high school football season.

Separated by 30 minute intervals, each representing school took turns at the wide school board lectern at the Cullman County Board of Education Central Office.

The video below spotlights the Good Hope Raiders featuring appearances by:

• Head Coach Alan Scott
• Band Director Melanie Gonzalez
• Cheer Coach Sydney Chappell

• Bailey Quick
• Matt Hancock
• Emma Brock
• Makata Cone
• James McWhorter

After their opening statements, these participants were grilled by the local Cullman press corps (Tim Collins, Jake Winfrey, Tyler Hanes, Nick Griffin, Cody Kanaday, and the inimitable Johnny Thornton). The questions were wide-ranging with many insightful, heartfelt answers provided.
